Project Overview:
As part of my role at Kuzushi Grappling, I designed a series of custom rash-guard sets and grappling shorts, tailored to reflect the gym's identity and community spirit. These designs aim to combine functionality, comfort, and an appealing aesthetic, offering Kuzushi members training gear that embodies both performance and style.

Design Objectives:
Brand Representation: Create a visual style for the rash-guards and shorts that aligns with Kuzushi’s brand identity, using gym colours, logos, and design elements that represent our values.
Functionality & Comfort: Prioritize ergonomic design and high-quality materials, ensuring that the gear is comfortable for long training sessions and optimized for the demands of grappling.
Community Focus: Offer designs that foster a sense of pride and belonging within the Kuzushi community, featuring bold, recognizable branding that helps unify members on and off the mats.
Design Highlights:
Kuzushi Core Rash-guard Set
Designed with the Kuzushi colours, featuring the gym’s logo prominently across the chest and back. The design incorporates subtle graphic elements that represent movement, power, and flow—essential qualities in jiu jitsu.
The set is built with a classic fit and compression material to support athletes during both training and competition. Visuals: Front and back views of the rash-guard, showing the logo placement and movement-inspired graphics.

Limited Edition Grappling Shorts
Created a special edition of grappling shorts, designed with both function and style in mind. The shorts feature reinforced stitching, side slits for increased mobility, and a comfortable waistband for a secure fit.
The design showcases a bold stripe pattern along the sides, incorporating the Kuzushi logo and a custom patch to signify the limited-edition nature. Visuals: High-quality product shots of the shorts, highlighting details like stitching, stripe design, and logo placement.
Design Process:
The design process started with research into existing jiu jitsu apparel to determine key elements that support both performance and comfort. I then worked on incorporating Kuzushi’s brand identity—focusing on the use of color, logo placement, and additional graphic elements that would appeal to both adult and youth members. Throughout the process, I sought feedback from gym members to refine the fit and aesthetic to best meet their needs.
Project Impact:
Community Pride: The custom rash-guards and shorts have been well-received by Kuzushi members, helping build a sense of unity and pride during training sessions and competitions.
Brand Visibility: These designs have also helped increase Kuzushi’s visibility at competitions and events, as members proudly represent the gym in distinctive, branded apparel.
